Park and Recreation Community Center
The Community Center provides educational and recreational input that leads to a positive productive
productive lifestyle. The Community Center emphasis is parental and child involvement.
The center avenues are through: tutorials(after school), summer swim and sports camps, library media,
community services. (uniform, school supplies, and coat distribution), report card parties/awards, and
incentive trips. (literacy classic Football Game, Memphis Grizzlies Games).
Educational Services:
After School Tutorial: Tutorial services are Monday-Thursday from 3pm – 5pm. The overall goal of this
program is to provide a tutorial program which focus on student achievement,
violence awareness, and anger management. Free play is from 3pm – 3:45pm; homework and
independent studies are from 4pm – 5pm. One hour of intense help for the students is provided by the
community center staff; incentives are also a major part of the tutorial program. The students are
allowed to play basketball or any other sport of their choice for one hour to complete the after school
care program.
Recreational Service:
The Community Center provides Adult and youth sports. The Center’s Adult Sports program is as
following: Adult free play: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Volleyball every Tuesday.
Adult Basketball league: The Community Center host a 8 weeks fall Adult Basketball League, entrance
fee is required.
Youth Basketball League: the Community Center provide a girls and boys basketball league. Both girls
and boys league will last for 6 weeks and there will be a entrance fee.
Summer Swim and sports camp: Both camps are given 3 weeks in July. Camps are designed to teach
local youths how to swim, golf, tennis and soccer.
Tae Bo/Pilates Program: The Center has a low impact total body exercise designed to strengthen and
increase endurance. Class times are: Tae-Bo  Daily 5pm – 6pm.
Youth Basketball/Softball:Â TBA
Adult Volleyball: Free play volleyball Tuesday nights  6pm.
